Thank YOU Notes - part 2 - Thanks of Others

Today is Thanksgiving Day. So this week I asked some people what they were thankful for. So I hope you enjoy this short little post and the answers to the series of questions that I asked others.

I want to leave you with two verses and then you can read the simple things that others and I are thankful for.

“Now, our God, we give you thanks, and praise your glorious name.” 1 Chronicles 29:13, NIV

“Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name.” Psalms 100:4, NIV

These are my answers to the questions;

What food are you thankful for? – I really like SHRIMP!!

What sight are you thankful for? – The scenery in Kentucky and Tennessee as you are driving south

What song are you thankful for? – Blessed Assurance – I love the Elevation Worship version.

What small thing that happened today are you thankful for? – Brownies!

Who in your life are you thankful for? – The older people in my life. I know that may seem mean, but I am thankful for them as they have helped me through some times.

What are you most thankful for? – My family. My wife and my two kids. I am especially thankful for my son who is still with us.

Here are the answers of others;

What food are you thankful for? Anything Hacienda!

What sight are you thankful for? I love looking at the stars at night and reflecting on God's awesomeness!

What song are you thankful for? "It is Finished"

What small thing that happened today are you thankful for? Grandaddy got out of the hospital.

Who in your life are you thankful for? My family

What are you most thankful for? God's blessings on me.

What food are you thankful for? Things that can be eaten quickly and one handed

What sight are you thankful for? Sunsets

What song are you thankful for? "The Lion Sleeps Tonight"

What small thing that happened today are you thankful for? I got a nap!

Who in your life are you thankful for? My husband and my son.

What are you most thankful for? Having a supportive family and friends

Then I asked a group of kids that they were thankful for and here are the answers from them

I hope you enjoyed this post. There is a lot to be thankful for. I hope on this day that you can find something to be thankful for and just thank God for it.

Eyes Up - part 4 - Peace

“...where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord.... Psalm 121:1-2 NIV There are just some things that we need help with and that is just a fact. So in this series of posts we are looking at a few of those kind of things and trying change our focus to the One that can give us true help with these things. We have been focusing in on Psalm 121:1-2 for this “Eyes Up” refocus. The psalmist realized that there is really only one true source of help and refocused attention to that source. The topic of today’s post is one that is really only found in Jesus. Peace. What is that anymore? Eyes Up - part 5 - Patience

“...where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord.... Psalm 121:1-2 NIV Ahhhh..... patience. That’s it. That’s all I have for this post. Anyone suffer from a lack of patience? I know I do and that is why I find it hard to give advice on the topic. This is why I’m not giving advice. I’m going to let God do that. I want to draw you attention to Exodus 14 for this week’s post. Moses has already been summoned by God to go back to Egypt and free the Israelites from Pharaoh. After much talking, plagues and stubbornness - Pharaoh lets the Israelites go. Moses leads them out of Egypt and they get as far as the Red Sea. Meanwhile, Pharaoh has changed his mind and is in hot pursuit of them. The people begin to grumble at Moses because of their situation. Last Thursday night, I was sitting in service and Pastor Beeson started the service with a prayer. He started with the words "I need you God" and this is what came to me over the course of that opening moment of prayer. Artist

I have always wanted to be an artist. I have always wanted to be able to whip out a sketch pad and draw what is before me. I have always wanted to be able to draw the intricate design of the landscape in the distance, the details of a person's face or the majestic colors in the sky at sunset. I have always wanted to draw on a white board as I teach the Word of God to 10 year olds. But I can’t even draw stick figures all that well. I am just not an artist in that way. But I am an artist. I am able to creatively teach 4th and 5th graders stories in the Bible so that they can understand how much he loves them and how all the stories in Bible are all one big story. We are all created differently with different abilities. Paul wrote about this in 1 Corinthians 12. He describes a body and how each part of the body does it’s own thing and that each part serves a purpose.
