#JesusReigns

So, Election Day was Tuesday and most of us either stayed up to watch the election unfold or we woke up to a new president on Wednesday morning. Some are angry. Some are happy. Some are indifferent. Some are worried. Some are scared of the future. Some are pleased to see what Mr. Trump will do as the President of the United States. Some don't even want to give the man a chance. 

In the wake of this election, my Facebook has lit up with people voicing their thoughts on the outcome of the election. Some are positive and some aren't. 

But there is one thing that I want to say right now, and I won't say it again. I am concerned about all of this. Where the country is going, what's going to happen and anything thing else that might come to mind. But I am not nervous about any of it. Steven Furtick said it like this "concerned---but not nervous." 

Who did Mr. Trump take office from?? If your answer is Barack Obama, you are correct. Who did Mr. Trump not take office from?? If your answer is Jesus Christ, you are correct!

Jesus is still in charge of this all!! He will never be dethroned! He is the beginning and the end. He was in charge before presidents and will be after presidents. He is in charge today, just like He was yesterday and last week and last month and last year. Jesus has been given all authority. The Bible tells us this: 

“Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth.”
Matthew 28:18 NLT

Jesus is not scared of Trump, Hillary or any future president or ruler on this earth. 

He is simply in charge and has all authority! Period! 

One day He will make all things new and restore this broken world.

“I heard a loud shout from the throne, saying, “Look, God’s home is now among his people! He will live with them, and they will be his people. God himself will be with them. He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever.” And the one sitting on the throne said, “Look, I am making everything new!” And then he said to me, “Write this down, for what I tell you is trustworthy and true.””
Revelation 21:3-5 NLT

So in this series of posts we are looking at a few of those kind of things and trying change our focus to the One that can give us true help with these things. We have been focusing in on Psalm 121:1-2 for this “Eyes Up” refocus. The psalmist realized that there is really only one true source of help and refocused attention to that source. Maybe it was a task you were working on and one of your kids (or spouse) come into the room or called out to you from another place in the house causing you to turn your attention from what you were doing to them or their calling out. Then you look back at your task and have to remember where you were or what exactly you have done. Did I add salt to this? Did I put in the sugar for the cookies? How many cups of flour did I put in the mixing bowl already? You get the idea. Have you been there? There are times in life when we can be the same way.
